Editorial policy
This site is funded by advertising, which gives us an obvious incentive to write flattering things about the products we link to. This page sets out the rules we work to so that we do not, and it tells you exactly what to do when you think we have failed.
1. Who writes here
Editorial content on miranov.online is written and signed by Lisa Anderson, who is the director of publication and responsible editor for Boyuk Group, s.r.o. Every article carries a named byline and a publication date. We do not publish anonymously, we do not use invented author personas, and we do not publish material supplied by an advertiser under one of our bylines.
If a piece is ever written by someone else, that person is named on it. If a piece is ever sponsored in a way that goes beyond the affiliate arrangement described below, it will say so in the headline area, not in a footnote.
2. How we establish a fact
Our subject is live software, which changes under us. We work to four rules.
- Primary sources first. A claim about how a game works is checked against the publisher’s own material — the official site, the official wiki, the published patch notes — before anything else. Community wikis, forums and video guides can point us at something, but they do not settle it.
- Cite, so it can be checked. Every article ends with a sources list naming what we relied on, so a reader can go and disagree with us from the same material.
- Hedge what we cannot verify. If we cannot confirm a number, we say so in the text rather than rounding a guess into a fact. Where a figure is a balance value that the developers change between updates, we say that too, and usually give no figure at all.
- The publisher prevails. Every article states that where our description diverges from the game publisher’s own current information, theirs is the one to follow. An article is a snapshot; a patch note is the present tense.
Articles carry a “last reviewed” date. When a game receives a major update, we re-read the pages that cover it rather than leaving them to rot.
3. How this site is funded
We take no money from readers. The site earns affiliate commission: when a reader follows a link marked “partner link” and then signs up for or installs the advertised product, an affiliate network pays Boyuk Group, s.r.o. a fee. The reader pays nothing extra, and the price or availability of the product is identical whether our link was used or not.
We also disclose the arrangement in three places on every page carrying a commercial link: a bar at the very top, a box immediately under the headline before any promotional content, and a note attached to each individual link. The links themselves carry rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" so that search engines are told what they are. Full detail is on the affiliate disclosure page.
4. What we refuse to do
These are not aspirations. They are hard limits, and breaking one is grounds for taking the page down.
| No invented testimonials | We publish no reader stories, user quotes, success stories or case studies that did not happen. The previous version of our main article was framed as a “reader-submitted story”. It was not one. We removed the framing and said so publicly in the article’s corrections table. |
|---|---|
| No invented ratings | No star ratings, scores out of ten, “editor’s choice” badges or aggregate review counts unless they are real, sourced and attributed. We currently publish none at all. |
| No manufactured urgency | No countdown timers, no “offer ends tonight”, no “only 3 spots left”, no fake stock levels, no pop-ups engineered to catch you leaving. If a genuine promotion has a genuine deadline we will name the source; otherwise we say nothing about timing. |
| No guaranteed outcomes | We do not promise that you will enjoy something, win at something, save money or get a result. We describe how a thing works and let you decide. |
| No fabricated numbers | We do not invent statistics, player counts, specifications or benchmark figures, and we do not repeat one we have found unless we can trace it to a primary source. Where a number would be guesswork, we leave it out. |
| No implied endorsement | We never suggest that a brand endorses, sponsors or has approved this site. It does not. Every page carries a trademark disclaimer saying so. |
| No hidden advertising | No advertorial disguised as editorial, no undisclosed paid placement, no unlabelled commercial link anywhere on the site. |
| No tracking | No cookies, no analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting, no browser storage. See the cookie policy. |
5. Independence from advertisers
Advertisers and affiliate networks have no say over editorial content. Specifically:
- No advertiser sees an article before publication, and none has a right of review, approval or veto.
- No advertiser can require a change, a removal or a softening after publication. They can tell us they think we are factually wrong, and we will check it — on the same footing as any reader.
- Commission rates play no part in what we cover or how positively we cover it.
- We publish criticism of products we earn from. The main article on this site says the game’s learning curve is steep, that its top-tier economy can lose you money, that artillery is widely disliked, and that whether the game is pay-to-win is a legitimate argument. We removed a flat “no pay-to-win elements” claim from an earlier version precisely because it was too favourable to be defensible.
- If we ever conclude that a product we earn from should not be recommended, we will say so and drop the link. The commission is not worth the credibility.
6. Corrections
We get things wrong. When we do, we fix them in the open.
How to report an error
Email info@miranov.online with the page address, the sentence you think is wrong, and — if you have one — a source. You do not need to give your name. You can also write to the postal address on the contact page.
What happens next
- Acknowledgement within three working days. Even if the answer is “we are still checking”.
- We check it against a primary source, not against our own memory of writing it.
- If you are right, we correct the page the same day we conclude it. A factual correction is never made silently: the article carries a corrections note saying what it used to say, what it says now and why. The main article’s corrections table is a live example, listing ten claims we removed or rewrote.
- If we disagree, we tell you why, and we say what would change our mind.
- Typographical and formatting fixes are made without a note; they do not change meaning.
Serious errors
If an article turns out to be substantially wrong rather than wrong in a detail, we take it down while we rewrite it, and the replacement explains what happened. We do not leave a broken page up because it earns.
7. Right of reply
If you are named or your product is discussed on this site and you believe we have treated you unfairly, write to the editor. We will publish a correction where we were wrong, and we will consider publishing your response where we were not.
8. Illustrations
Every diagram on this site is an original SVG drawing made for the page it appears on, with a caption and descriptive alternative text. We use no product screenshots, no promotional artwork and no stock photography — partly because it would be a copyright and trademark problem on an advertising-funded page, and partly because a diagram we drew ourselves can show the mechanism, which a screenshot cannot.
